About the Role

As an Intake Coordinator, you’ll help connect youth and families to the right mental health services through our STEP program in Salinas. You’ll review referrals, screen youth for eligibility, communicate with families and community partners, and coordinate with our team to begin services quickly. When STEP isn’t the right fit, you’ll help families connect with other programs and resources. Your organization, communication, and follow-through will help ensure youth receive timely support during periods when they need it most.

About step

The STEP (Skills, Transitions, Exploration and Progress) Program is located in Salinas, CA. STEP provides intensive, day treatment short-term stabilization services to youth, ages 12 - 17, for an average of 15 days. Our goal is to reintegrate our youth into schools and the community with lower levels of outpatient mental health treatment. All groups are designed to teach youth the skills necessary to help them learn about their mental health, provide psychoeducation, and help them learn skills to feel better and be safe.

Responsibilities

  • Review referrals and screen youth for eligibility for the STEP program
  • Provide families, referral partners, and community providers with clear information about STEP services and the intake process
  • Coordinate the intake process with youth, families, county partners, and other community providers
  • Collaborate with the management team to assign referrals to therapists and initiate services within required timelines
  • Connect youth and families with appropriate community programs and resources when STEP is not the right fit

Requirements

Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree and have at least one year of experience in an office setting. Strong organizational, communication, and multi-tasking skills are required, along with proficiency in the MS Office suite.
