Market context

Florida substance abuse counseling roles stay competitive

In Florida, Substance Abuse Counselor openings often draw candidates with licensure, related degrees, and direct patient-care experience, so employers tend to screen closely for both credentials and hands-on treatment background. This role is competitive because the preferred mix of a bachelor’s degree, Florida licensure or certification, and familiarity with 12-Step or SMART Recovery approaches can narrow the field. Review the AI-summarized requirements and benefits here to save time, then tailor your application to highlight licensure, patient-care experience, and group or recovery-program exposure.
