Work with a respected VA healthcare team Credentialing help, professional liability coverage, and workers’ comp are provided Floating ICU nurses are required to float as needed to other departments, including MedSurg, Stepdown (SDU), Spinal Cord unit and Community Living Center (CLC).
Most of the time, the floating is to MedSurg and SDU.
What You’ll Do Complete and document accurate patient assessments Deliver safe, compassionate, high-quality care per VA standards Work collaboratively with staff, patients, and families Attend all required VA training and ongoing education Maintain reliability, professionalism, and excellent attendance Requirements BSN Graduate of a school of nursing that was approved and/or accredited by the Accreditation Commission of Education in Nursing (ACEN) or the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) Active, unrestricted RN license (any U.S. state accepted) Current BLS and ACLS certifications 2+ years of recent Intensive Care Unit experience (within the last 5 years), and float experience to MedSurg units.
