Job Description

Hiring rate $23.802/hour minimum. Additional $3.00/hour facility differential offered for hours worked. We want you to join our team! The Nebraska Department of Correctional Services (NDCS) employs nearly 2,300 team members operating nine institutions statewide, which house approximately 5,800 inmates. The department's focus includes inmate programming and education, physical and behavioral health care, re-entry services, and community programs, and is accredited by the American Correctional Association (ACA). Duties

  • Prepares reagents, compounds, solutions, cultures, or catalysts for use in testing and/or processing samples.
  • Operates, calibrates, and cleans or performs minor repairs to laboratory instruments and equipment.
  • Records or enters and maintain documents/data on daily analysis activities and findings to comply with record keeping requirements and to ensure information is available for future study and/or presentation.
  • Uses electronic medical record system for scheduling and documenting laboratory specific items.
  • Performs phlebotomy and collects other specimen for laboratory testing.
  • Gathers information to assist with process improvement of laboratory/clinic processes. Requirements/Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

At least one year of post high school coursework/training in health, chemistry, biology, or related field and one year of experience in a scientific laboratory

Preferred Qualifications

. Prefer at least one year of experience in phlebotomy and/or specimen collection.
