About the role

The Neurosurgeon will manage a patient load of 20-25 patients per clinic day and perform 8-10 surgical cases per week. Responsibilities include splitting time between the clinic and the OR while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to improve community health.

Opportunity to practice in the Cedar Rapids community and to have multi-regional collaboration support with other UnityPoint Neurosurgeons Large patient referral base from our primary care clinics Clinical staff support, plus a first assist PA, and clinic-based advanced practitioner Fully integrated system with clinics and hospitals on EPIC EMR to improve care coordination

Responsibilities

Average of 20-25 patients per day, during a full clinic day Average of 8-10 Surgical cases per week 2.5 days in clinic and 2.5 days in the OR each week 8 days of call required per month; APP takes first call Ability to work as a team member to improve the health of the people and communities we serve Specialty care/surgical procedures: Spinal, Carpal tunnel, stimulators, and pumps Evaluates, interprets, and coordinates information to make decisions and recommendations regarding patient care Patient-focused, friendly, and willing to collaborate in a team environment Excellent communication (written and verbal), analytical and problem-solving skills

Qualifications

Requirements

Candidates must hold an MD or DO and be Board Certified or Eligible in Neurosurgery. They must be eligible to work in the US and be able to obtain an unrestricted medical license in the state of Iowa.
