The technologist performs diagnostic MRI exams, verifies patient identity, obtains medical history, explains procedures, and acquires appropriate images according to established protocols. Responsibilities also include reviewing images, communicating findings to the radiologist, responding to medical emergencies, and participating in process improvement activities.
Candidates must be registered by ARRT in Radiology (R) or MRI (MR) or hold ARMRIT certification, and must have one or more years of experience as a Radiologic Technologist with relevant certification. Additionally, completion of American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) training is required by the end of the orientation period.
