Position
Description: The Mental Health Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in delivering compassionate, evidence-based care to patients with a variety of psychiatric diagnoses in an outpatient setting. In this dynamic and high-paced environment, the Mental Health RN must balance clinical expertise with strong communication skills to provide patient-centered care while ensuring safety for patients, staff, and visitors.

Description: The William “Bill” Kling Department of Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic provides comprehensive consultation, evaluation, and treatment services for a wide spectrum of mental and behavioral health conditions. Their dedicated team supports Veterans facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, personality disorders, substance use and addictive behaviors, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and combat-related stress. The clinic also offers specialized care for emotional and cognitive concerns, including anger management, relationship difficulties, memory issues, intrusive thoughts, and self-harming or aggressive behaviors. Through compassionate, evidence-based, and Veteran-centered care, the clinic promotes recovery, resilience, and improved quality of life for those who have served.

Minimum Qualifications

Requirements

Current, unrestricted RN license.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred, Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) accepted
BLS certification
Three (3) years mental health experience
Ability to function in a high-paced, stressful environment
