The Surgical Tech provides basic care for patients across the entire lifespan and performs the duties of a scrub person during the intra-operative phase of care. This role requires recognizing significant patient conditions and reactions and promptly notifying the appropriate patient care team members.
Candidates must meet educational requirements which include a High School Diploma or GED, plus completion of a Surgical Tech program or significant prior experience depending on the Surgical Tech level (I or II). Required certifications include American Heart Association CPR (BLS), with Surgical Technologist Certification being required for Surgical Tech II or if experience is less than 5 years.
