RN Qualifications: Graduate of an approved school of Registered Professional Nursing BSN- Preferred

Current NYS License to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse

Responsibility Summary

• The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high quality compassionate care to patients and families.
• The Registered Professional Nurse assesses patient need, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates the care delivery throughout the patient’s episode.
• The Registered Nurse on 2 North develops specialized skill in the area of Cardiac Care including telemetry monitoring.
• The Registered Nurse on 2 North also provides care to adult adolescent and geriatric populations with medical and/or surgical conditions.
• The 2 North RN is accountable for patient family education to assist in understanding self care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes to support health and healing.
