The optometrist will conduct comprehensive eye exams, establish long-term patient relationships through care and education, and advise patients on options for vision correction and disease management. Responsibilities also include diagnosing sight problems, prescribing corrective lenses and medications, and evaluating patients for systemic diseases like diabetes.
Candidates must possess a Doctorate of Optometry from a credentialed institution and must have successfully passed all state optometric board examinations. The role requires practicing to the full capacity of the license while supporting practice growth.
