The Critical Care RN is responsible for delivering comprehensive, high-acuity care to critically ill patients across three ICU units supporting medical, surgical, and cardiac critical care, as well as stepdown acuity levels. This role involves continuous electronic cardiac monitoring and advanced interventions to stabilize and manage life-threatening conditions.
Candidates must possess a minimum of three years of current ICU nursing experience, along with current BLS and ACLS certifications accredited by the AHA. An unrestricted RN license in any US state/territory is required, and while an ASN is accepted, a BSN is preferred.
Medical and surgical care are provided to patients in the CRITICAL CARE area. The scope of care includes patients who are critically ill or whose conditions require the intensive monitoring services of ICU, cardiac and are at risk of needing immediate intensive treatment including COVID and all patients requiring isolation. Treatment/procedures provided in the ICU include, but are not limited to, arterial line monitoring, hemodynamic monitoring, central line monitoring, mechanical ventilation, ECG monitoring and interpretation, gastric lavage, pulse oximetry, pacemaker monitoring, administration of vasoactive intravenous medication, thrombolytic therapy, elective cardioversion, hemodialysis, Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT), Intra-Atrial Ballon Pump (IABP) and Swan Ganz catheter monitoring and post-anesthesia recovery as needed.
