This role involves restocking medication, including controlled substances, to patient care units and ensuring automated medication dispensing stations are updated to improve patient safety and quality. Responsibilities also include preparing IV admixtures, delivering non-stocked medications, and assisting pharmacists with medication requests.
Candidates must possess a high school diploma or GED and must hold both Pharmacy Technician National Certification and a Pharmacy Technician License. Preferred experience includes at least one year working as a certified pharmacy technician.

This clinical staff position will have an impact on improving safety and quality of our patients by keeping the Pyxis medication stations updated to ensure proper and timely medication distribution.
QUALIFICATIONS Education Required: High school diploma or G.E.D Experience Preferred: At least one year as a certified pharmacy technician LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, CERTIFICATIONS License Required: Pharmacy Technician National Certification and Pharmacy Technician JOB FUNCTIONS Providing support to the patient care team assisting in medication dispensing. Restocks clinical unit automated medication dispensing station by visiting assigned patient. Prepares I.V. antibiotics and compound admixtures by injecting medications into large volume solutions under the direction of the pharmacist. Delivers medication to patient unit and Winchester Hospital locations that is not stocked in the automated medication dispensing station. Assists pharmacist in answering phone calls from clinicians as it pertains to patient medication requests. Replaces Pyxis station narcotic stock on patient care units on a daily basis and obtains proper sign off from clinicians on the unit. Assembles code cart trays with required medications and returns to specific patient unit promptly. Prepares pre-package stock medication, cream and ointment into individual doses for distribution to patients. Pay Range: $24.50 - $32.97 The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law. Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as applicable to the position and in accordance with the law.
