Chenango Memorial Hospital is seeking an experienced Per Diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Emergency Department (ED) team. This role is ideal for a confident and capable advanced practice provider who thrives in a fast‑paced, high‑acuity environment and values flexibility in scheduling.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a busy Emergency Department
  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage a broad spectrum of acute and urgent conditions
  • Perform appropriate procedures within scope
  • Order, interpret, and act on diagnostic studies
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Collaborate with ED physicians, hospitalists, and ancillary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes

Qualifications

  • Active NYS license as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience required
  • Prior Emergency Department or urgent care experience strongly preferred
  • Strong critical thinking, decision‑making, and procedural skills
  • Excellent communication and patient‑care abilities
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment
