The Respiratory Therapist serves as a resource for the healthcare team, performing all aspects of Respiratory Therapy, including direct patient care on hospital floors and participating in daily operational activities. Responsibilities also include performing diagnostic cardiology procedures, drawing and analyzing Arterial Blood Gasses, and assisting with airway management during emergencies.
Candidates must possess two years of experience in a Joint Commission accredited acute care hospital, including experience in neonatal and pediatric critical care. Required credentials include a Colorado Respiratory Therapist license, NBRC Registered Respiratory Therapist certification, BLS, ACLS, NRP, and PALS certifications.

Serves as a resource person for all members of the respiratory and health care team. Responsible for performing all aspects of Respiratory Therapy.
1. Performs direct patient care on the patient care floors while participating in daily operational activities as necessary. 2. Demonstrates competency and compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards. 3. Helps to train, educate, and set up education for all current and new staff for the Respiratory Service Area. 4. Maintains constructive collaborative communication with patients, patient's family, physicians, co- workers and other members of health care team to contribute to continuity of care. 5. Following competency validation, performs diagnostic cardiology procedures including EKG, Cardiac event recorder, holter monitor, EEG, Pulmonary function testing, Peak Flows, Pulse Oximetry titration walks, and stress tests. 6. Draws Arterial Blood Gasses, runds samples, controls daily maintenance, and troubleshoots the analyzer. Acts as a resource on interpretation of results per Joint Commission/CAP/CLIA regulations. 7. Attends Trauma, Code Blue and Rapid Response Team emergencies. Assists with establishment and maintenance of airway. 8. Demonstrates ability to give and receive feedback and incorporates this into work. Gives feedback on employees for performance reviews. 9. Identifies clinical and interdepartmental problems and resolves conflicts appropriately. 10. Role models the principals of a Just Culture and Organizational Values. 11. Perform other duties as assigned. Must be HIPAA compliant
• State of Colorado Respiratory Therapist license required
• Must possess, or be able to obtain within 90 days, the computers skills necessary to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
