The technologist performs diagnostic CT exams following established procedures, verifying patient identity, obtaining medical history, and explaining procedures including associated risks and benefits. They are responsible for acquiring appropriate images, reviewing them, documenting observations, responding to medical emergencies, and providing post-care instructions.
Candidates should ideally be registered by ARRT in Radiology or CT, must complete AHA BLS training by the end of orientation, and require one or more years of experience as an ARRT Radiologic Technologist or advanced certification in CT.
