As an Intern at BHSN, you will get hands-on mental health experience by providing engagement and support in the community and/or office setting as a member of our clinical team. You will assist with risk assessments, brief interventions, clinical interventions, group services, support post crisis or post appointment while providing excellent patient care and compassion at every encounter.
Assigned clinical programs may include, and are not limited to, outpatient behavioral health clinics, school-based services, crisis services, substance abuse services, and rehabilitative programs.
Providing support and care to those engaged in services or treatment
Providing evidenced based interventions, developing and assisting with adherence to safety plans
Understanding Crisis Team policy and procedure manual, Agency and regulatory policies and procedures.
Participating in the writing and timely completion of any required documentation in accordance with state/federal regulations and agency policies and procedures
Participating in care planning and coordination meetings to facilitate care process. As assigned, seeing individuals who are an immediate crisis to curtail emergency visits and/or inpatient admissions.
Additional duties as assigned.

Must be a current student in a Masters program for Mental Health or Social Work. A valid NYS driver's license and reliable transportation are required.
