The Respiratory Therapist provides prescribed respiratory therapy by ensuring accurate physician prescriptions, clarifying discrepancies, and educating patients or their significant others. Responsibilities include performing various measurements, administering oxygen and medications, operating mechanical ventilators, and performing procedures like intubation and suctioning.
Candidates must possess at least an Associate's Degree or equivalent experience, along with 1-3 years of relevant experience. Required credentials include a current Respiratory Therapist License and NBRC Certification in New York State.
Provides respiratory therapy as prescribed by a Physician. Prepares, operates and maintains respiratory care equipment.
