Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – CT Transplant and Assistive Devices (ECMO/MCS)

• 100%, day shift working 4-10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday with future weekend coverage. You will work at University Hospital in Madison, WI. Weekend hours may vary based on operational need. • We are seeking a
• Nurse
• Practitioner /
• Physician
• Assistant to: PProvide advanced inpatient care for cardiothoracic transplant patients Preop orders and postoperative for heart and lung transplant patients Participation in Heart Failure/Shock team protocols Support surgical elements of the lung and heart transplant programs (which works closely with the Advanced Pulmonary/ECMO program, Heart Failure/MCS programs) Support ECMO specialists, VAD specialists Participation in daily rounding, multidisciplinary rounds, review for appropriate billing Clinical Management of Advanced Therapies- Impella, ECMO, LVAD Complex wound management, chest tubes, pacing wires, sternal closure monitoring, participation in bedside procedures Work at an ECMO Center of Excellence and Level 1 Trauma Center. Outpatient participation for patient work-up and continuity of care Preoperative evaluation for heart and lung transplant patients including VAD and transplant candidacy Participate in transplant selection conference Coordinate care from inpatient to outpatient transplant clinic
• Education:
• If
• Nurse
• Practitioner: Master’s or Doctorate’s degree from accredited Nursing Program.
• If
• Physician
• Assistant: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from accredited PA Program.
• Licenses and
• Certifications: Minimum – If Nurse Practitioner*: Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice.
