Phlebotomist - Lab-South: DHMC Southern Region Clinics

• Overview This posting is specifically for positions located at our Clinic locations in Southern, NH. We are seeking candidates for permanent employment in the positions listed below. An integral part of our hospital operations, the role of the Phlebotomist is a key player in the facilitation of collecting and passing along a vital piece of information to our Laboratory and Pathologists to help DHMC and Clinics achieve our mission of providing each person the best care, in the right place, at the right time, every time. The Phlebotomist collects blood samples from patients of all ages. Identifies patients and procures samples. We are seeking candidates with prior Phlebotomy experience, or those looking to start a new career as a Phlebotomist, for whom we will provide on-the-job training for the position/shift you are offered. We currently have the following open position(s): Concord Clinic: Full-time (day shift), 40 hours/week, working Monday-Friday; specifics of working hours will be discussed during the interview Manchester Clinic: Full-time (day shift), 40 hours/week, working Monday-Friday, day shift hours. All per diem, part-time, and full-time positions require weekends on rotation. Part-time and full-time positions require rotating holidays. All positions may rotate to other clinic locations as needed. Our Career Ladder allows you to continue growing in the department while your hourly rate increases as you meet the competencies. • sign-on/retention bonus for day shifts. *The bonus is available for external hires only, and certain conditions apply. This is pro-rated for qualifying candidates for part-time positions (20+ hours).

Responsibilities

Trainee: Learns proper techniques for drawing blood from adult and pediatric patients. Practices accurate patient identification and specimen labeling under supervision. Collects and processes routine samples. Assists in maintaining phlebotomy supplies, equipment, and work areas. Develops competencies in computer systems used for specimen tracking and processing. Uses knowledge to identify issues and identifies resources to assist with resolution. Participates in classroom, simulation, and hands-on training activities. Performs other duties as required or assigned.

Phlebotomist

• Draws and collects blood specimens using proper techniques. Accurately identifies patients and ensures correct specimen labeling and documentation. Performs basic troubleshooting of samples requisitions, orders, and computer issues and escalates as needed. Provides reassurance and professional care to patients during procedures. Prepares specimens for in-lab testing or off-site shipment. Follows infection control, safety, and quality assurance procedures consistently. Ensures blood drawing stations are clean and well-stocked. Assists in training new Phlebotomists. Performs other duties as required or assigned.
