About the role

The Ultrasound Technologist will perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations and provide high-quality images to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires collaboration with healthcare professionals and maintaining accurate patient records.

Description We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technologist to join our medical imaging team. The Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound examinations, providing high-quality images to assist in patient diagnosis and treatment. This role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and a patient-centered approach to ensure optimal care and comfort during procedures.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities: Perform a variety of diagnostic ultrasound procedures, including but not limited to abdominal, obstetrical, gynecological, vascular, and musculoskeletal exams, based on physician orders. Operate ultrasound equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images, ensuring proper positioning and technique. Prepare and educate patients about the procedure, addressing any questions or concerns and ensuring their comfort. Review and evaluate images for clarity, quality, and diagnostic value, making adjustments as needed. Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and provide accurate diagnostic support. Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, including exam documentation and imaging results, in accordance with facility policies and regulatory standards. Ensure all equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and in compliance with safety and infection control standards. Stay updated on advancements in ultrasound technology and techniques to provide the best care possible. Adhere to all hospital, departmental, and regulatory policies, procedures, and standards, including HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field.
  • Current certification through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or equivalent credential (e.g., RVT, RDMS).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Experience 1-3 years of clinical ultrasound experience preferred but not required.] Proficiency in operating ultrasound equipment and knowledge of various sonographic procedures.
  • Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to assess and respond to patient needs during imaging procedures.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods, assist patients, and operate imaging equipment.
  • Key physical and mental requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds Ability to push or pull heavy objects using up to 50 pounds of force Ability to sit for extended periods of time Ability to stand for extended periods of time Ability to use fine motor skills to operate office equipment and/or machinery Ability to receive and comprehend instructions verbally and/or in writing Ability to use logical reasoning for simple and complex problem solving FLSA Classification: Non-exempt
