The Physician Assistant will respond to trauma cases in the Emergency Department, round in the Surgical Trauma ICU, and manage patients in the outpatient clinic. They will also assist in surgical procedures and perform various medical procedures as needed.
Job Summary First Physicians Group of Sarasota Memorial Healthcare System is seeking to employ a Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join their Trauma team at Sarasota Memorial Hospital for per diem night shift coverage.
The Trauma team includes nine (9) Trauma Surgeons and 20 Advanced Practice Providers to cover an ADC of 40-60 patients with seasonal fluctuations.

Responsibilities include: Shifts are 6:00 P.M. - 6:00 A.M.
Trauma response in the Emergency Department, rounding in Surgical Trauma ICU and hospital floors.
PA-C will see patients in the general surgery and trauma acute care outpatient clinic and provide Surgical First Assist in the operating room for both elective, acute care, and traumatic surgical cases.
Ability to perform procedures including, but not limited to, placement and removal of chest tubes, arterial lines, and central venous catheters.
