The General Diagnostic Medical Sonographer is responsible for performing quality ultrasound images for medical interpretation within the UAMS hospital and the Radiology department. This position requires collaboration with ordering providers and Radiologists, as well as after-hours, weekend, and holiday call coverage.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and be a graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. Registration as a Diagnostic Sonographer or Cardiac Sonographer is required within one year of hire.

Additional Information: Responsibilities: Performs a wide variety of ultrasound studies in collaboration with the ordering provider and reading Radiologists' requests. Requires rotational after-hours/weekend and holiday call coverage. Works closely with Radiologists in order to provide the needed information to make an accurate diagnosis. Assists physicians in such procedures as renal biopsies, sonohysterograms, and Lumason enhancement studies. Joins alongside the academic achievement of students, residents, and fellows.
