Summary

This position independently operates ultrasound equipment to produce quality diagnostic echocardiography to ensure optimal patient care.This position may require frequent travel to alternative locations.

Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient and outpatient diagnostic cardiac sonograms in accordance with the American Society of Echocardiography (ASE) guidelines for digital image acquisition.
• Perform advanced echo imaging including echo guidance for interventional procedures, such as ECMO, LVAD, ASD devices, Balloon Septostomy, and PCE taps.
• Assist with intraoperative TEE.
• Responsible for performing, archiving and and calculations of all pediatric cardiac ultrasound imaging by using appropriate machine optimization, probe selection and patient positioning.
• Utilize critical thinking skills and a segmental approach while imaging to produce diagnostic high-quality studies in normal to complex congenital heart defects.
• Participate fully in call schedule including satellite areas.
• Participate in biweekly educational echo conferences and clinical research studies.
• Preceptor for students and fellows.
• Participate in quality improvement activities. WORK EXPERIENCE
