The Histotechnician will process human tissue and body fluid specimens for microscopic examination and perform technical duties related to the production of histopathological slides. They will also operate and maintain laboratory instruments and adhere to quality control policies.
Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Histology, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology 1 year or more histology experience OR an Associates in Histology
3 months or more of histology experience 3 months or more of Immunohistochemistry experience Histology and/or ASCP certifications Additional Job Standards In lieu of education requirements listed above, non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirements Comfortability embedding both large and small specimens Ability to accurately read all labels and documents Highly organized with a strong attention to detail Experience working in a high volume laboratory environment is desirable Familiarity with laboratory SOPs and safety protocols Able to pass a standardized color blindness test At Labcorp we have a passion for helping people live happy and healthy lives.
