About the role

The technician is responsible for performing routine and complex laboratory procedures, troubleshooting instrumentation, and ensuring accurate test results. They must also maintain a safe work environment, perform quality control, and manage specimen processing according to standard operating procedures.

Labcorp is seeking a Technician to join our team in Tulsa, OK. Work Schedule

Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm, rotating weekends and holidays. Job Responsibilities Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary Assist with processing of specimens when needed Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Minimum Qualifications

Associate’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology Preferred Qualification: Current or prior Labcorp experience Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or Medical Technology 1 year or more of previous clinical laboratory testing experience 1 year or more of microbiology experience ASCP or AMT certification Additional Job Standards Proficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems Ability to work independently and within a team environment High level of attention to detail along with strong communication and organizational skills Able to pass a standardized color blindness test Flexibility to work overtime or other shifts depending on business needs At Labcorp we have a passion in helping people live happy and healthy lives. Employees regularly scheduled to work 20 or more hours per week are eligible for comprehensive benefits including: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees regularly scheduled to work less than 20 hours, Casual, Intern, and Temporary employees are only eligible to participate in the 401(k) Plan. Requirements

Candidates must possess at least an associate degree in a chemical, biological, or clinical laboratory science. Prior laboratory or microbiology experience and professional certifications like ASCP or AMT are preferred.
