The technologist performs specialized and routine diagnostic radiology procedures, operating equipment to produce images for diagnosis while ensuring patient cooperation and safety. Essential duties include preparing and positioning patients, determining exposure factors, assisting physicians during fluoroscopy, processing images, and performing routine equipment maintenance.
Candidates must possess a minimum of two years of experience specifically in Mammography, or one year in a Specialty with ARRT certification in that Specialty, alongside a High School Diploma or GED. Required certifications include California Radiologic Technologist certificates for Fluoroscopy and Venipuncture, and Basic Life Support, with ACLS required when necessary.
Under the direction of the Imaging Services Director and Chief of Diagnostic Imaging, performs radiographic diagnostic imaging procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis of disease and injuries. Operates the radiographic equipment to produce radiographic recorded images of the body. Performs technological functions to ensure optimal diagnostic quality of patient care utilizing efficient and safe processes.
