Hospice/home health aides provide paraprofessional services to patients in their homes, following physician orders and adhering to state regulations and agency policies. Responsibilities include assisting clients with personal care, household tasks, measuring vital signs, and assisting with self-administration of medication as directed by an RN.
Candidates must possess a High School diploma or GED, active CNA certification in Pennsylvania, and completion of required training programs. A minimum of three years of employment as an aide in an institutional, home care, or hospice setting is mandatory, along with a current driver's license and reliable transportation.

Completion of federally compliant training program as required by law/regulation and successful completion of a competency evaluation program. Documentation of Three (3) year’s employment as an aide in an institution, home care, or hospice setting. Must have current Driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work site. Current CPR training Meets agency hiring criteria as defined in agency minimum standards (e.g. provision of professional references.) Must be able to function in a practice environment with minimal direct supervision, accepting personal responsibility for maintaining a professional relationship with agency’s client and their family.
