The therapist will provide individual, family, and/or group therapy sessions weekly, conduct initial assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and maintain accurate, confidential client records. Duties also include teaching psychoeducation classes and managing billing and referrals in collaboration with administrative staff.
Candidates must possess a Master’s degree or higher in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field, along with active licensure as an LCSW, LCPC, or LCP in Illinois. A minimum of two years of therapy experience, preferably with I/DD and neurodiverse populations, is required.

The ideal person for this role will have the opportunity to provide individual, family, and/or group therapy and high-quality mental health care to a growing and diverse population in a community-based setting.
1. Must be capable of speaking English clearly and fluently to communicate with staff, students, and parents. Writing skills must be clear, concise, grammatically correct, and free of spelling errors.
2. Must be able to respond to client emotional and/or behavioral problems, including significant, personalized, and/or verbal abuse. Requires sufficient emotional and cognitive strength, agility, and sensory acuity to be alert to client mental health and/or behavioral emergencies and to implement crisis prevention and/or de-escalation protocols effectively, with children and adults weighing 75 pounds.
3. Must consistently act in a professional manner that reflects positively on themself, the Wellness Center, and Little Friends, Inc. This includes demonstrating a high commitment to client services and satisfaction of all internal and external customers of Little Friends, Inc.
Provide individual, family and/or group therapy sessions weekly. Conduct initial assessments and develop individualized treatment plans. Maintain accurate and confidential client records in compliance with legal and ethical standards. Collaborate with other mental health professionals and community resources to support clients' needs. Participate in regular supervision and team meetings. Stay updated with the latest research and best practices in mental health care. Contribute to community outreach and education efforts as needed. Teach psychoeducation, social development, and/or social/emotional health classes, as assigned. Complete therapy notes and submit charge sheets to the office manager for billing purposes in a timely manner. Work with the office manager to manage referrals and onboard new clients. Collaborate with the other Little Friends programs for referrals for services. Complete Medicaid Waiver billing and turn in to the appropriate billing staff in a timely manner.
