The primary duty involves operating x-ray equipment to produce radiographs of designated body parts as ordered by physicians, which includes positioning and instructing patients before the examination. This role also requires preparing equipment and rooms, monitoring patient safety during exams, producing diagnostic images, documenting exam information, and verifying exams on PACS.
Candidates are required to hold American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-R) certification and an Oregon Board of Medical Imaging (OBMI) Radiologic Technologist License, along with Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. An Associate's Degree in radiological technology is preferred, and a Fluoroscopy license in the state of employment is also preferred.
