The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) provides basic patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assisting with routine bedside care for patients of various ages. Responsibilities include personal hygiene, vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and responding to emergency situations.
Candidates must be graduates of an accredited school of Vocational/Practical Nursing and hold a current LVN license in California. Current BLS certification is required, and ACLS/PALS must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
Description Summary/Objective The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) employs intellectual, interpersonal and technical skills to perform basic patient care under the supervision of the Registered Nurse. The LVN assists with routine, direct bedside care of patients of various ages. Such duties include, but are not limited to: personal hygiene, vital signs, I&O, use of equipment, ADLs, re-enforcement of teaching, documenting in the medical record, recognizing and responding to emergency situations and administering medication within the LVN scope of practice. The LVN reports to the Registered Nurse.

Required Education and Experience Graduate of an accredited school of Vocational/Practical Nursing Current LVN license in California Current BLS required, ACLS/PALS required within 90 days of hire
Preferred Education and Experience 1 year experience as an LVN or two years' experience as a CNA prior to entering the Vocational/Practical Nursing Program.
