The Licensed Practical Nurse administers patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse and collaborates as a member of the nursing team to accomplish patient care activities. The LPN contributes to the implementation of patient care while providing physical, emotional, and spiritual support to patients and families.
Candidates must possess a Diploma Program for Practical Nursing and hold a valid Ohio Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license along with current AHA BLS certification. Certification to administer medications is required, and previous LPN experience is preferred.
The Licensed Practical Nurse administers patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse. The Licensed Practical Nurse collaborates as a member of the nursing team to accomplish patient care activities and contributes to the implementation of patient care. The LPN is accountable for compliance with the Ohio Nurse Practice Act, applicable regulatory standards, and institutional policies and procedures. The LPN provides physical, emotional and spiritual support that directly/ indirectly impacts patient outcomes and care provided to patients/ families/ significant others.
