The technologist performs diagnostic radiographic examinations as prescribed by physicians and assists with a wide variety of cardiac, vascular, and interventional radiographic procedures, including emergent ones. Responsibilities also include utilizing radiation equipment, monitoring hemodynamics, and maintaining procedural supply inventory.
Candidates must have graduated from an AMA-approved Radiologic Technology program and possess one year of Neuro IR experience, with precepting experience being preferred. Required certifications include ARRT, AHA BLS, and ACLS within three months, with Basic Dysrhythmia required within one month of hire.
Performs diagnostic radiographic examinations as prescribed by a licensed radiologist, interventional radiologist, interventional cardiologist, or vascular surgeon. Assists physicians with all aspects of a wide variety of procedures including diagnostic, routine, and emergent cardiac, vascular, and interventional radiographic procedures. Utilizes radiation producing equipment within established departmental guidelines serving adult and geriatric patients, collection and maintenance of radiology QA, distribution and collection of dosimetry badges, cardiac and hemodynamic monitoring, patient preparation and assisting scrub responsibilities, maintains a fiscally responsible working inventory of specialized procedural supplies.
Education & Experience: AMA approved, accredited program in Radiologic Technology. 1 year of Neuro IR experience required. Precepting experience preferred. Per diem requires 1-2 years' experience. Certification/Licensure: Radiologic Technologist Registry (ARRT) required. American Heart Association BLS required. Basic Dysrhythmia required within one month of hire. American Heart Association ACLS required within 3 months of hire. RCIS preferred.
