The Respiratory Therapist will provide respiratory care to pediatric patients across various settings, administering treatments, monitoring responses, and collaborating on patient care plans. They will also apply scientific knowledge to practical clinical problems and actively participate in resuscitative and emergent situations.
Candidates must possess a valid Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license and current CRT certification, with RRT strongly preferred or required within six months. Required certifications include current BLS and PALS certification within six months, and completion of a respiratory therapy program is mandatory.
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing respiratory care to children in various settings. Respiratory Therapist Key Responsibilities: Provide respiratory care to pediatric patients in various settings. Administer respiratory therapy treatments and procedures. Monitor and evaluate patient responses to therapy. Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans. Educate patients and families on respiratory care and management. Apply scientific knowledge, technical expertise, and theory to practical clinical problems. Provide therapeutic, diagnostic, consultative, and supportive services for neonatal through adult patients and their families. Actively participate in resuscitative and emergent situations. Function within professional and hospital standards. Respiratory Therapist Qualifications: Requires a valid Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license. Requires CRT. RRT strongly preferred before start for experienced RCPs and/or required within 6 months. Current CPR certification - Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers through American Heart Association or American Red Cross is required. Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification - American Heart Association (AHA) training is required within 6 months. Education - requires completion of a respiratory therapy program. No pediatric work experience is required. Demonstrated ability to collaborate with caregivers, colleagues, medical staff, and community partners.
