The Registered Nurse will provide care to pediatric patients by performing various clinical duties such as blood draws, administering treatments, and assisting providers with exams and procedures. This role also involves coordinating patient care both internally and externally and maintaining accurate documentation.
Takes patient history and obtains vital signs prior to provider seeing the patient. Performs basic testing and screenings. Completes corresponding computer work for lab tests ordered on blood, urine, tissue, and culture samples. Performs subcutaneous, intradermal and intramuscular injections and accurately documents according to the policy for that procedure. Dispenses and documents prepackaged medications and other treatment modalities. Assists providers with exams and procedures. Performs procedures as instructed by the provider (ear irrigation, eye irrigation, nasal suctioning, IV placement, and IV hydration). Maintains confidentiality with all patient information (HIPAA). Operates and maintains in-house lab equipment. Acts as liaison and care coordinator both internally and externally for various services needed by the patient. Follows up with patients and other facilities to ensure that patients receive the care that they need. Responds to patient inquiries using internal inquiry messaging services. Tracks the progress of patients requiring varying services. Ensures a superior patient experience, by embracing the Just 4 Kids mission and values. Performs all other duties as assigned. QualificationsThe preferred RN will have the following: Must hold a valid Idaho nursing license. Current BLS and/or ACLS certification required (certification is offered in-house). Excellent communication and documentation skills. Keen observational and problem-solving skills.
