The Physician Assistant is responsible for providing direct patient care and coordination within transplant surgery specialty areas, evaluating new and established patients, and ordering necessary tests and consultations. They will also prescribe medications, counsel patients and caregivers on disease management, and confer with healthcare providers to optimize patient outcomes.
Candidates must be graduates from an ARC-PA accredited program and possess current New York State Physician Assistant License & Registration, NCCPA Certification, and BLS certification. Approximately 2 years of clinical work experience is highly desired, although new graduates may be considered.

The Division of Transplant Surgery is seeking a Physician Assistant for the outpatient clinic to provide patient care post-transplant.
The Physician Assistant (PA) is responsible for the clinical practice of medicine within the designated specialty, working in collaboration with a supervising physician and in accordance with an established delineation of privileges. Within their scope of practice, the PA will independently and collaboratively function as an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) which includes but is not limited to obtaining history and physical exam, determining differential diagnosis, evaluating and managing of acute/chronic medical complaints and conditions, and determining the need for therapeutic/diagnostic tests and procedures. The PA will perform additional specific functions, as it pertains to the specific medical and/or surgical specialties. A graduated level of autonomy is expected and granted based upon individuals’ competency, skill set and knowledge.
Master's Degree is preferred.
Approximately 2 years of work experience in clinical setting highly desired.
Up to one year of post-degree course work and/or an internship and less than one year of previous experience may be considered.
New grads may be considered.
Prior experience with coordinating clinical protocols desired.
