The Cytologist screens gynecological and non-gynecological cytologic preparations to identify abnormalities and assists the Pathologist with diagnosis, signing out negative reports and passing yearly proficiency testing. Responsibilities also include assisting with fine needle aspirations, advising on specimen collection, performing rapid staining, and participating in quality assurance and departmental record-keeping activities.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree and the ASCP CT credential, with a minimum of one year of related work experience preferred. The role involves daily interaction with residents, fellows, and students in an academic teaching facility setting.
