PA or NP - Gastroenterology (Inpatient or Outpatient) – Day Shift - Fredericksburg, VA

• Join our dynamic and collaborative Gastroenterology team providing inpatient care at Mary Washington Hospital.
• We are seeking an experienced and motivated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support our GI physicians in managing hospitalized patients with acute gastrointestinal illnesses.
• This position is exclusively hospital-based and focused on rounding, with no after-hours or on-call responsibilities.
• Essential Functions & Responsibilities: Collaborate closely with the attending Gastroenterologist to assess, diagnose, and manage patients with acute GI conditions.
• Perform initial GI workups and follow-up assessments as directed.
• Participate in daily hospital rounds, reviewing test results, documentation, and care plans.
• Rounding at both Mary Washington Hospital and Stafford Hospital.
• Hospitals are approx.
• 20 minutes apart.
• Partner with residents and, beginning Fall 2026, GI Fellows as part of an academic and team-based environment.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.

Qualifications
