This role involves assessing client needs, coordinating individualized treatment plans, and facilitating outpatient groups and individual counseling sessions. The counselor acts as a guide, confidant, and advocate while coordinating the discharge planning process.
A Bachelor's degree in a Human Services Field is required, along with meeting specific qualifications to be a Licensed or Provisionally Licensed Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) or Qualified Addiction Professional (QAP). Candidates must also hold relevant credentials from the Missouri Credentialing Board and possess a minimum of 1 year of experience.
This position is responsible for assessment and identification of client’s needs; coordination of the development of the treatment plan; facilitation of outpatient groups and individual counseling and coordination of the discharge planning process. The Substance use Counselor serves as the client’s guide, confidant, advisor, and advocate, assisting the client to identify problems that need to be addressed.
A Bachelors degree in Human Services Field (education, nursing, criminal justice, recreational therapist, social work, psychology, human development) plus:
Must be credential in one or more of the following: Qualified addiction professional (Qap) –
QMHP or Qualified Substance Professional (QAP) with minimum of 1 year experience.
