Provides comprehensive nursing care for patients undergoing electrophysiology and structural heart procedures, including pre-procedure assessment and post-procedure recovery. Responsibilities include circulating, scrubbing in for cases, and managing dysrhythmias during procedural processes.
This position cares for patients before, during and after an electrophysiology procedure. This position cares for Structural heart (including Watchman), Lead extractions, ablations, Vascular and EP pacemaker / device patients. This includes pre-procedure assessment, pre-medication, documentation of procedural process, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, mapping, post-procedure care and patient education.
(35%) *Performs nursing care for the above outlined procedures, but not limited to: (35%) *Circulate and assists during cases, including sterically drop procedural supplies on tray, scrubbing in the case, running for supplies. (15% ) *Records all pertinent information on appropriate data sheets. (15%) *Assists Radiologic Technologists circulate cases, sterically drop procedural supplies on tray.
Certifications and Licensures
Credential: RN: Registered Nurse
Knowledge of the nursing techniques normally acquired through the completion of an Associates Degree in Nursing culminating in licensure in the State of Michigan. Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
Associates Degree in Nursing required.
Equivalent Experience and Other Comments (Education)
Requires an Associate Degree in Nursing with Michigan licensure, BLS, and ACLS certifications. Candidates should have 2 years of critical care experience, with a preference for 1 year of experience in an electrophysiology lab.
