The MRI technologist performs magnetic resonance imaging procedures using scanners and power injectors to produce cross-sectional and 3D images for licensed practitioners' interpretation. This includes safely administering contrast agents, assessing patient risk, and ensuring adherence to established imaging protocols.
Candidates must be certified by ARRT or NMTCB, hold ARRT-MRI and BLS certifications, and complete a 6-month orientation, though individuals with at least one year of experience can be hired directly. Competency requires understanding technical standards, policies, and all relevant imaging equipment and software.
