  • Positions: No JOB SUMMARY The MRI technologist will work with the radiologist and fellow staff members to prepare patients and operate magnetic resonance equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans. The MRI technologist works under general supervision in performing a variety of exams and procedures according to departmental protocol, as requested by physician order. The technologist will position the patient’s body part for imaging and set appropriate technical factors on the imaging equipment with a high degree of competency to ensure production of quality images for interpretation by the radiologist.

  • Care: Ensures patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department. Explains the procedure and post-procedure orders to the patient to gain cooperation and minimize anxiety. Prioritizes workflow in regard to patient condition and ensures patients’ arrival and departure occur in a timely manner. Provides an atmosphere conducive to gain the patient's cooperation and confidence. Utilizes data received from patient satisfaction and practice performance results to identify opportunities to improve and participates in the planning and improvement process.

Critiques images for quality and makes necessary judgments to determine if repeat is necessary. The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate of an accredited school for Magnetic Resonance Imaging.

Experience

2 years of healthcare experience preferred. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details.

Licensure

  • ARRT or ARMRIT Registered in MRI, or eligible. Registry must be completed within 12 months of start date.

The base compensation for this role is $47.53 hourly.

Requirements

Candidates must have a high school diploma and be a graduate of an accredited MRI school, with ARRT or ARMRIT registration required within 12 months. Two years of healthcare experience is preferred, along with proficiency in MRI safety and communication.
