Inabia is seeking a skilled Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse to provide compassionate care for mothers and newborns during the labor and delivery process. This role requires strong clinical judgment and the ability to respond quickly to obstetric emergencies.
Nurses in this role may also provide coverage for Medical/Surgical units when needed.
Key responsibilities
Provide comprehensive nursing care for laboring mothers and newborns during labor, delivery, and postpartum recovery.
Monitor maternal and fetal conditions using fetal monitoring equipment and clinical assessment tools.
Assist physicians during labor, delivery, and emergency obstetric procedures.
Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments according to physician orders.
Provide postpartum care including maternal recovery monitoring, newborn assessments, and breastfeeding support.
Educate patients and families on postpartum care, newborn care, and recovery expectations.
Respond rapidly to obstetric emergencies such as fetal distress or maternal complications.
Document patient care and clinical findings using the Cerner electronic medical record system.
Float to Med/Surg units when staffing requires.
Collaborate with physicians, midwives, pediatric teams, and interdisciplinary staff.
