The Clinical Dietitian plans and provides medical nutrition therapy and client education for inpatients and outpatients across all age ranges, conducting individualized nutrition assessments and implementing appropriate therapy approaches. Responsibilities also include advanced nutrition support, communicating recommendations to physicians, documenting patient outcomes, and developing evidence-based nutrition protocols and educational materials.
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Nutrition or Dietetics is required, or four years of equivalent experience for those who graduated before January 1, 2024, while new RDs graduating after that date require a Master's degree. Completion of an ADA-approved internship or clinical experience is mandatory, along with Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) licensure or eligibility, attained within 90 days of hire.
Effective interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills required. Keyboarding skills required for automated computer systems, including electronic medical records. Must successfully complete orientation and competency for position.
