The Medical Assistant acts as a key liaison between patients, families, providers, and the care team, primarily by coordinating patient flow through clinical data collection, review, and entry of history into the medical record. Responsibilities also include performing and assisting with clinical procedures as directed, such as obtaining vital signs, administering vaccines, and collecting laboratory specimens.
Candidates should ideally have prior experience as a Medical Assistant and successful completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred. Required certifications include a Medical Assistant Certification (CMA, RMA, NCMA, or CCMA) and obtaining BLS certification via the American Heart Association within 90 days of the start date.
Experience as a Medical Assistant strongly preferred Successful completion of a Medical Assistant program preferred Medical Assistant Certification preferred: acceptable certifications are Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) and Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) BLS certification with the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of start date
