The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing professional nursing care and assistance to patients within the Intensive Care Unit (ICU). This role includes directing non-licensed personnel in direct patient care and supporting medical care under the direction of the Medical Staff.

The staff nurse provides direction to non-licensed assertive personnel in providing direct patient care. The staff nurse supports the medical care of patients under the direction of the Medical Staff pursuant to the objectives of the hospital.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Graduation from an acredited nursing program. MINIMUM WORK EXPERIENCE: Previous clinical nursing experience. Previous CV/Post-Op open heart experience preferred. REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS: Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse, or Graduate Nurse, Board Eligible. American Heart Association BLS required. Completion of Advance Cardiac Life Support within six months of hire. REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES: Interpersonal and critical thinking skills required. Excellent communication and team work skills. Basic clinical, computer & typing skills.
