About the role

The Registered Nurse ICU provides direct patient care to critically ill patients in an 8-bed unit by performing interventions such as medication administration, specimen collection, and clinical treatments according to the nursing process. Responsibilities also include documenting patient care, monitoring and communicating patient conditions, assisting with daily living activities, and collaborating across disciplines to coordinate comprehensive patient support.

More about our team The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at Jackson Purchase Medical Center embodies a culture of teamwork and effective communication, essential for providing specialized care to critically ill patients.

This is an 8-bed unit that ensures patients receive optimal medical attention and support.

How you’ll contribute A Registered Nurse (RN) who excels in this role: · Accurately performs patient assessments and identifies patient needs · Identifies and initiates appropriate nursing interventions · Provides care appropriate to condition and age of the patient · Performs timely and appropriate documentation relating to medical necessity in the medical record · Responsible for completion and revision of the Interdisciplinary Care Plan for each patient · Performs timely and accurate QI assessments What we’re looking for · RN license required Basic Life Support certification is required within 30 days of hire. · ACLS and PALS are required within six months of hire. · One year of experience preferred · ASLS certification preferred Handle With Care (HWC) within 6 months of bhire Why join us We believe that investing in our employees is the first step to providing excellent patient care.

Requirements

Candidates must possess an Associate's degree (Bachelor's preferred) and be a Registered Nurse licensed in Kentucky, though new graduates may work under a provisional license for up to six months. Required certifications include BLS within 30 days, and ACLS, PALS, and Handle With Care within six months of hire, alongside strong critical thinking and decisive judgment skills.
