The Pharmacy Intern assists a licensed Pharmacist with the selection, preparation, distribution, and record keeping of medications for hospital inpatients. The role also includes expanding clinical knowledge by assisting with consultations, medication histories, and adjusting medications based on patient function.
Applicants must be currently enrolled in an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy and registered as an Intern with the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy. Desirable knowledge includes experience with Microsoft Office, understanding of pharmacy calculations, IV admixture experience, and prior hospital pharmacy technician or intern experience.
Education, Credentials, Licenses: Registered Intern with Kentucky Board of Pharmacy Enrolled in an ACPE accredited College of Pharmacy OR A graduate of an approved college or school of pharmacy awaiting examination for licensure as a pharmacist or the results of an examination for licensure as a pharmacist Specialized Knowledge: Experience with Microsoft Office DESIRABLE Degree in a related area of studies (Chemistry, Biology or Mathematics) Understanding of Pharmacy Calculations IV Admixture Experience Previous experience as hospital pharmacy technician or intern.
