The Registered Nurse assumes responsibility for a group of orthopedic patients, utilizing the nursing process to provide care, which includes performing assessments, implementing plans of care, and maintaining accurate documentation for the healthcare team. Key duties involve assessing ortho and medical/surgical patients, educating them on various aspects of self-care and transition needs, coordinating care with physicians, and managing specialized equipment like traction and wound appliances.
Candidates must possess a Licensed Registered Professional Nurse (RN) license from the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) and must obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days via the American Heart Association (AHA). The minimum education requirement is a High School Diploma/GED, with an Associate's Degree also mentioned.
The staff Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility for a group of patients for a designated time frame and provides care to these patients via the utilization of the nursing process, nursing trends, technology, financial and human resources within the philosophy of the institution.
