The Occupational Therapist evaluates and treats patients of all ages, serving as a clinical resource and role model while designing and adjusting care plans based on patient response and evidence. Essential functions include performing patient transfers safely, educating patients and families, and completing thorough documentation of evaluations and treatment plans.
Candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy and maintain an active Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Illinois, along with obtaining Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days. Experience requirements vary, with new graduates needing less than one year of experience, while experienced OTs require one year or more.

Education Level Field of Study Bachelor's Degree Occupational Therapy Licenses/Certifications Licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) - Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR) And Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA) Attend and satisfactorily complete all required continuing education regarding the care of acute stroke patients If applicable, completes annual education as assigned to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Replacement Program requirements.
