The LPN/LVN is responsible for covering clinical offices based on operational needs, assisting in the examination and treatment of patients, and participating in patient education. They will also take vital signs, record patient history, and assist in minor office procedures.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, current California LVN license, and preferably two years of experience in a multi-specialty group setting. Additional certifications such as AHA BLS and IV Certification are required, with ACLS preferred.

(other duties may be assigned, deleted or changed at any time, at the discretion of management, formally, or informally, either verbally or in writing). 1. Cooperates in the cross training of this position to ensure coverage at all times for all offices. 2. Interview patients; measure vital signs, pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height; record information on patient’s chart. 3. Prepare treatment room for examination of patients; assist physician with procedures; clean examination room and sterilize appropriate equipment after use. 4. Explain procedures and treatments to patients and their family in order to gain cooperation, understanding, and allay apprehension. 5. Administer prescribed medication orally or by injection (subcutaneous, intramuscularly, intradermal) and document time, dosage, and route on the patient’s chart. Observe patient and report any adverse reactions. 6. Administer treatments, and perform routine laboratory tests under supervision of a Physician, Allied Health Professional, or an RN. 7. Initiate intravenous lines, add plain IV fluids to existing lines, and discontinue lines under the direction of the Physician or an Allied Health Professional (must be IV certified). 8. Perform electrocardiograph (EKG), pulse oximetry, inhalation treatments, and operate other equipment as certified. 9. Travels between departments and facilities on an as-needed basis based on coverage requirements. Inventory and order medical supplies and materials, as needed. 10. Functions in the LVN scope of practice and Riverside Medical Clinic policies and procedures. 11. Responsible for ensuring all expired sample medications and patient supplies are discarded upon expiration date. 12. Maintains current California LVN licensure and BLS certificate.
